How do I get started?
Getting started is easy. The first step is to set up your private dance lesson sample program with one of our trained Toronto dance instructors. During your first private dance lesson, your instructor will determine your current level and recommend an appropriate course for you to continue. To set up your sample program now, contact us.
Do I need a partner?
No partner is necessary. Our studio is about 50/50 couples and singles. During your private dance lessons in Toronto, your teacher will be your partner. You can learn to dance effectively during private, one on one lessons with your instructor. Book your sample program now.
Can I really learn to dance from private dance lessons in Toronto?
Yes. Dancing is as easy as walking once you are taught how by an Arthur Murray expert. We teach simple, basic elements, from which the steps are derived. Hundreds of thousands of people have been successfully trained at Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Toronto. There is no age limit. Our oldest students are over 70. The youngest are usually in their late teens.
How long will it take?
The length of your course will depend on how many Toronto ballroom lessons you want to learn and how proficient you wish to become in each dance. However, you will be able to dance after your first private dance lesson.
How much do private dance lessons in Toronto cost?
Tuition varies, depending on a number of factors e.g., how good you want to be, what dances you want to learn, and your dance schedule. Remember – YOUR FIRST LESSON IS ONLY Free. After that lesson, your instructor will recommend a program and will be able to answer any questions, so you will have the knowledge to make an informed choice.
Does the fee have to be paid in advance?
Tuition is generally paid in advance, especially for Foundation Programs. However, financing and other arrangements are also available. Since these are determined on a case by case basis, please ask in person, and we will be glad to give you all the details.
Will I learn the latest steps?
You can learn the very latest steps in any social dance from our private dance lessons in Toronto – Salsa, Swing, Hustle, Samba, Meringue, Fox Trot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Mambo, Waltz, Tango, and others.
After I learn to dance, will I still have to return to learn the newest steps?
After getting a good foundation, you will be able to analyze the new steps and pick them up yourself without difficulty. However, many students return or continue because they enjoy their dance lessons in Toronto and the dancing friends they’ve acquired.
When can I take private dance lessons in Toronto?
Will I have a good teacher?
Yes. All Arthur Murray dance teachers must complete an arduous training regimen, making them very competent. Your teachers will be selected to best suit your particular needs and style of learning.
What Should I Wear?
At our studio, we want your private dance lessons in Toronto to be relaxing and fun. There is no enforced dress code of any sort for our students from the ankles up. We do recommend some shoes appropriate for dancing, however. If you do not have any dance shoes, please wear a shoe that doesn’t grip the floor heavily (boots, large tread shoes) or is a sandal/flip-flop without any heel support (you will be taking steps backwards, which will cause your foot to slip out).
What benefits will I get from dancing?
Dancing is our first line of social activity. Good dancing is a lifetime investment in fun, poise, confidence, improved personality, and new friends. Beyond these, dancing is a superb physical conditioner – providing fun without working at it. It opens up a wonderful new world of togetherness and a thriving year-round social calendar! Zumba classes in Etobicoke, for example, are designed specifically for exercise and fitness. For specific details, see our benefits page.
